Large Separation Angle and High Extinction Ratio
Substrate Materials: Alpha-BBO, Calcite, YVO4 and Quartz.
Separate Unpolarized Light into Two Orthogonally Polarized Outputs.
Wide Wavelength Range.
Mount options: Rectangular or round.
a Wollaston polarizer prism consists of two orthogonal prisms of birefringent material—typically a uniaxial material such as alpha-BBO,calcite and YVO4.
A Wollaston polarizer is known for its large separation angle. The deviations of the ordinary and extraordinary beams are nearly symmetrical about the input beam axis, so that the Wollaston polarizing beam splitter has approximately twice the deviation angle of the Rochon. Any separation angle can be designed upon the requirement.

Separation Angular of Standard Products vs Wavelength
What are the different types of polarizers ?
Polarization by Fresnel reflection.
Birefringent polarizers.
Thin film polarizers.
Wire-grid polarizers.
How does Wollaston polarizer work ?
Wollaston polarizer can separate an incident beam into two rays: extraordinary and ordinary ray with a deviation angle which is dependent on wavelength and prisms' wedge angle. The main material of Wollaston polarizer is alpha-BBO,calcite and YVO4.
Which instrument does Wollaston prism use ?
A Wollaston prism is a type of birefringent prism that splits an incident beam of polarized light into two orthogonally polarized components. It was invented by William Hyde Wollaston in 1802 and is commonly used in optical microscopy, spectroscopy, and polarimetry.
